Hey friends!
Really cool to have you here, and thanks for taking the time to dig a bit deeper in to Dulesé and what this is all about.
A few years ago, our founder - Amelia, was working in a holistic health company where she learned the powerful effects of natural remedies and delving into what is actually in our products.
Eager to try cleaner and sustainable alternatives, Amelia first discovered natural deodorants after encountering a discomfort under her arm that was eventually identified as her lymph nodes fighting against a pesky virus.
Although not confirmed to be linked to a antipersperant, it begged the question, what exactly are we applying to our body, and is it harmful to us? And so, the journey began!
When reading the ingredients list on our products, the order in which they appear - shows what ingredients are used most in our product. Noticing, Aluminium was the second ingredient on almost every deodorant (after water) she took to research, could this be the reason my arm-pits, look like arm-puffs?
The research on Aluminium was confronting, not only speaking to it being a very irritating chemical - but also links to more severe illnesses; such as Breast Cancer, Altzhimers, and thyroid issues.😠
While the evidence is unclear, it begged the question, how many of us were unaware that we were putting heavy chemicals directly into our body’s virus fighting system? Seems absurd!
It was at this point that Amelia realised we all deserve better. We deserve a product that’s natural, effective and sustainable - without compromise on application. We deserve a deodorant that’s not only powerful in masking odour, but aligns with ethical practices and looks sexy enough to proudly display in our bathrooms.
Que: Dulesé: a New Zealand made, owned and effective and all natural deodorant.
A year-and-a-half-long journey to bring a product to market. Initially driven by positive change for oneself, culminating in a commitment to health, and a passion for making the world a little greener, one armpit at a time.
Strap in, it's going to be a goodie.
